The Coding it Forward Fellowship empowers early-career technologists to innovate in local, state, and federal government offices across the United States.

This specific opportunity is a Software Engineering Fellowship in partnership with the District of Columbia Department of Human Services. This opportunity is open to all eligibile applicants and does not require residency in DC.

Details


Dates: January 12 - March 20, 2026

Pay: $20/hour undergraduate, $25/hour graduate

Commitment: Remote, full-time, 40 hours/week

What We Offer


Professional Programming

We will offer Fellows both synchronous and asynchronous professional development opportunities focused on public interest technology.

One-on-One Mentorship

Fellows will be matched with an experienced technologist in civic tech/public interest tech. You will develop a mentorship relationship curated for your specific professional goals.

In-Person Learning

The program concludes with a gathering in Montgomery, Alabama, to visit the Equal Justice Initiative’s Legacy Museum and Memorial.
